Julia

Hello everyone! My name is Julia and I'm from Seattle, Washington on the west coast of the United States of America.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I developed a love for nature and especially coffee! Did you know that Washington State is called the "Evergreen State" because there are so many Evergreen Trees that stay green all year round? Seattle is also the home to many famous coffee chains, such as Starbucks and Tully's.

I come from quite a big family. I have two older sisters and one younger brother. I also have five nephews from ages 1 all the way to 13. We also have four dogs! When I was growing up, my mother constantly found homeless animals and cared for them until she found them a home. Not only was it a lot of fun having a lot of different pets, it also taught me the importance of kindness from a very young age and that is something that I especially hope to pass on to my students. This is also why I like to spend my time volunteering at least once a month.

I came to Japan in 2012 as a university student at Temple University to study Japanese history and culture. While I was a student, I started working part time with children and I absolutely loved it! I can't imagine doing anything else.

I always try to keep my classes fun and interesting, this way everyone is having fun and learning at the same time. As a teacher, my success is my students'success and I will always do my best to help them succeed.
